Who is Chris Andrews?

Chris Andrews (Irish: Críostóir Mac Andriú;[citation needed] born 16 May 1967) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He is currently a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin South East constituency. He was first elected to the Dáil in the 2007 general election.

He is the grandson of Todd Andrews, a leading figure in the early days of Fianna Fáil. His father Niall Andrews and his uncle David Andrews both served as Fianna Fáil TDs, while his first cousin, Barry Andrews was elected a TD in the 2002 general election. He is the fourth member of his family to sit in the Dáil. Another cousin, Ryan Tubridy is a chatshow host on RTÉ.

Chris Andrews failed in his first attempt to be elected to Dáil Éireann in the 2002 general election. He failed to hold on to his seat in Dublin City Council in the 2004 local elections. Chris Andrews was elected to the Dáil Éireann in the 2007 general election.
